I always feel like a little kid when I get to hear the finished track – Doug
I started to love music and drumming when I realized how wonderful it was to work with groups of people and realize art. One of the most rewarding places for collaboration is the recording studio. To work with different artists and groups and transform ideas, stories or vision into reality is truly special. Studios can be difficult… they are often uncomfortable and reflect pressure through time and money but as a musician they are very exiting and often
represent the place where songs and arrangements are immortalized into the media. I have always tried to be open minded to a producer and artist. To listen closely to an artists thoughts and music and to help move the process forward. To allow magic. Being a drummer in the recording process is especially unique. You are often trying to start the magical process by creating the foundation. Making all the other musicians shine is very special and is the mark of a great studio drummer. I always feel like a little kid when I get to hear the finished track.
